AN ARTIST who claims Renaissance master Caravaggio and cult graffiti artist Futura 2000 as influences, launches his first solo show in Brick Lane this week. Irish artist Conor Harrington has a background in fine art but draws his inspiration from graffiti, using oil painting techniques alongside spray paint. “My work is about an amalgamation of both worlds. It’s not just about graffiti, but about developing its visual language,” he says. His debut show A Quiet Riot, is the first exhibition by “urban art gallery” Stolen Space at its new home, the Dray Walk Gallery, the Old Truman Brewery, Brick Lane. The show is free and open from 11am-7pm daily until March 7.
